Everything parents and schools need to know about national drawing and painting competitions.
Every year, thousands of school students across India take part in art competitions. These contests give young artists a chance to show their talent, win scholarships and medals, and gain confidence on a national stage. This guide explains how art competitions for school students in India work, and how your school or child can take part.
A national art competition invites students from many schools and cities to create original drawings or paintings on a shared theme. Entries are judged by qualified, independent judges, and top performers receive awards such as scholarships, medals, mementos and certificates. The aim is to celebrate creativity and to encourage children to express themselves through art.
Most school art competitions are open to students from Nursery up to Class 10. Children compete within their own age group, so every child is judged fairly against peers at the same stage. In the Rising Colours competition by Kids' Cerebral Academy, there are seven age categories, from Nursery through Class 9 and 10.
Rising Colours is a national talent search drawing and painting scholarship competition organised by Kids' Cerebral Academy, Nagpur. Schools register first. Once a school is enrolled, all its students from Nursery to Class 10 become eligible. The competition is held within the school premises, so no travel is needed. Winners receive National Scholarship Awards, gold, silver and bronze medals, and certificates, and every participant receives a consolation certificate.
If you are a school, fill the registration form and KCA sends you an official brochure with topics, dates and full guidelines. If you are a parent, share your child's school name and address with KCA so the school can be invited. You can register your school using the button below.
